Core Curriculum II is currently being planned for Fall 2024 in conjunction with AMTC '24 in Salt Lake City, UT

This activity is jointly provided by Medical Education Resources and AMPA. 

This conference is designed to provide the second of a 3-part core curriculum process that is relevant to the success of physicians managing critical care air and ground transport teams.  Topics are selected from Principles & Direction of Air Medical Transport, 2nd Edition.

Educational Objectives:

At the completion of this conference participants will be able to: 

  • Discuss financial considerations including reimbursement and denial issues important to medical transport that the medical director needs to know.
  • Relate medical director liability issues pertinent to medical transport.
  • Discuss what the referring physician needs to know regarding appropriate transport and transfer of a patient.
  • Compare various airway management techniques and the benefit of each to enhance patient care.
  • Discuss what factors need to be addressed when training highly effective transport teams.
  • Compare different flight physician models and roles.
  • Define PAIP and AMRM and how they are important to the medical director.
  • Discuss the medical director’s involvement in HR issues including employment.
  • Define the role of the medical director in public relations, public education, and politics.
